We received a email and report which makes very interesting reading from Mid Cotswold Tracks and Trails Group as detailed below. Please use this link to access their report.

THE VALUE OF MULTI-USER TRACKS TO THE COUNTY
BRIDLEWAY GROUPS SHARING INFO
COORDINATED COUNTY SAFETY CAMPAIGNS WOULD MAKE A NATIONAL CAMPAIGN
Hello,
We at Mid Cotswold Tracks and Trails Group were recently asked for assistance in presenting facts and figures to our County Council on the value of bridleways to the county.  The Cotswold Conservation Board (AONB) recently held an access conference which we attended, and they are keen to promote all rights of way including multi-user tracks and to try and stop any more funding cuts for them.
We had gathered information before which we had used on various projects, and our Secretary has now just pulled it together into one report to assist.
We are also talking to our Road Safety Partnership about a county-wide safety campaign – hopefully to be done the week the clocks change and the lighter nights come in – it would be REALLY good if other bridleway groups could lobby their County Highways to do the same in the same week – that would in effect make it national.
Keeeeeeeep Riiiiding !
